Guidance on ventilation & lighting for classroom checklist
Windows
Windows must be fitted with restrictors when the are above ground floor and if they open into an area where pedestrians may be walking or running. The restrictor must prevent the window opening exceeding 10cm.

Light levels
There are two potential issues regarding lighting levels, either insufficient lighting or excessive lighting (often evidenced through glare off of surfaces). Insufficient lighting makes detailed tasks difficult and can cause eye strain. Excess lighting can also make tasks diffuicult and cause eye strain.

This classroom's store cupboard lights don't work - this will increase the likelihood of slips and trips due to the slow response rate of human eyes to large changes in brightness levels
Temperature
The minimum temperature in a school classroom is 18°C. There isn't a set maximum temperature. The law requies the temperature to be reasonable. This is to allow for differing kinds of work and task location.
